Automate mark worked

Hi,
I very new to Peoplesoft and am working on migrating 8.9 to 9.1
A new requirement which is currently holding me up is automating mark worked in the worklist. To elaborate : whenever a particular item has been succesfully performed the 'mark worked' function should kick in immediately and automatically instead of clicking on the mark worked button at the work list.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever get the Mark Worked automated? I have a feeling that request is next for our application and am curious how you did it.
