hmm, not sure what kind of example are you looking for. The PeopleCode action in an Application Engine is just that, a PeopleCode. You can code what ever you'd like to. It works just like any other code you have on a record, component, page and so on. I would highly recommend going through AE Peoplebook. It has plenty of information about Sections, Steps and Actions.
